I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Great canvas and framing. A decent shipping time, and EXCEPTIONAL safe packaging. Just an appropriate image for my viewing/listening room. Just took the speaker grills off for this photo.
Artist's Description
This cute little monkey I photographed in Baguio in the Philippines. At the time a garden competition was being held and this poor monkey was tied on a chain to a tree, Hanging on supposedly to enhance a design! I do not agree at all with wild animals being kept as pets, it was very frustrating to see this and not be able to do anything to remove him from the situation; unfortunately though the Philippines is not known for its kindness to animals, especially in Baguio as it is the centre of the dog-eating trade.
Therefore for me this drawing holds many personal memories, not least because I spent 4 years living in the Philippines and fighting for animal welfare alongside my colleagues at CARA (Compassion And Responsibility for Animals). It was a very important time in my life, shocking to witness such animal cruelty and frustrating to not have the power to help all the animals I met along the way.
About Pencil Paws
Animals have always been an important part of my life and I relish the challenge of trying to capture their unique personalities and characteristics on canvas. I enjoy exploring various mediums however the seemingly simple pencil is one of my favourites, even though each piece takes many hours of work. I like the way I can control the image layering to add fine detail and depth whilst adding tone and texture. Pastels were my first love and now again I will get the urge for some colour. A new area I am exploring is tinted charcoal pencils and coloured pencils with ink, am loving the detail and depth of colours these combinations can create. Art for me is a continual journey of learning, improving and developing. I am very rarely...

Really nice drawing, reminds me of the work of a friend from HS. He did so well, almost quit myself as never dreamed I could do even close to what he did. Then, began working with acrylics decades later, and found it easier for me to draw with acrylics, as I could cover my mistakes. ;o) Voted and Tweeted to over 600 followers @RJohnstonAZ
